We went to the library and completed the final images. The final images we chose were a combination of all of our ideas built upon. Jessica edited and created the first rake image and magazine layout to open our three images. Then Beckie edited the fire and snow images and put them together with the help of Jessica. Sandy also helped to recommend ideas to add in to our final ideas.

We chose these final images because we felt that they not only walked you through the seasons from October to December but that they also all linked very well together. 

Our first image is portraying Autumn Is the opener page and the image displaying the rake dragging along the leaves and the underwear with it. To create this image and idea we thought to ourselves what most represents October (excluding Halloween) So we came to the conclusion of the Crisp leaves and them all being piled up on the streets. The idea of the rake came later when we thought it would be a good idea for the under wear to be raked up along with the leaves. When we edited this image we found that when the image was reflected it looked a hundred times better. We added a contrast and darkened the edges, keeping a highlighted centre and saturation to the leaves. We added the writing to left page in the blank spaces and the product details in the top right corner. 

Our second image is portraying November, specifically bonfire night. We chose to recreate a bonfire in order to carry off the month of November and to ensure that our images flowed well with each other. When we first set up the set on the day of the shoot it was incredibly hard to keep it all stable while the underwear was put on to it. But in the end we think we got the positioning right. When it came to editing, We decided that the image needed to be darkened around the top especially to give it that 'night time' feel. Then we lit up the bonfire area itself and added a light fire effect (done by beckie.) 

Our third image is portraying December/Winter. We wanted this image to be cool and crisp and in stark contrast to the warmer autumnal images. But the images still flow together with the use of the leaves under the snow. Almost like a leafs life cycle. This image turned out really beautiful, the snow looked a lot less fake when the photos were uploaded and edited. We cooled the image adding a slight blue tint, a contrast and some darker shadows to try and get the white underwear to stand out. This one we decided to create a double page spread as it worked best with the way we left the space at the side.

Okay so we decided we might want to add fire to our mini underwear bonfire to give it a more festive edge. I'm still unsure on if i 100% like the idea because i don't think that its something ASOS would ever do. However i wanted to try and create a toned down and minimal version that might have fire on it. I only added really small amounts around the bonfire itself as if it had just this second caught on fire. I didnt want it to distract from the underwear but it does make the image interesting. I made the lighting on the image slighter warmer too since the fire would be hypothetically warming the scene. I think i'm happy with the outcome of my image but for some reason i feel like i would rather use the none lit one, without the fire.

So above you can see the differences between my edited and un-edited photos. I wanted them to look professionals so i didn't want to go over the top with anything. As you can see i dulled out the colour from the rake picture and added a slight vintagette border. i cooled the lighting but added a warmer tint to even out the white a little more as i think its an important think that we don't lose the aspect of it being white. I cropped to zoom it in and added a lot of contrast to separate the colours a bit more.I said in a previous post that i wasn't as keen on that specific photo but i'm actually pretty happy with how it turned out.  However i still might to to broaden my Photoshop skills by trying to edit around a few leaves. 

With the bonfire image which i still love, i centred it in frame as much as possible. I darkened the edges keeping almost a spotlight like feature in the centre. Although i darkened the image i think i made the colour a little more vibrant as i felt like it really made the image pop. I think the black centre bra still takes the attention but a lot less since i added a higher contrast to the image to separate the shadows a little more.

Everyone i have shown these images to so far have all said they loved the Snowy underwear one the best. I do love how realistic it comes across, a fear of mine was the fake snow looking too fake but im super happy with the outcome of them. Especially the dead chirps leaves under the snow it links it to the other two images more, almost showing a life cycle for leaves. I don't think there's anything about the edited snow picture i wish i could of changed, since i added contrast, and darken the shadows the white underwear stands out a lot more in comparison to before which was our only one worry so i am really happy with that image entirely. 

I'm really happy with my edited images but im still going to have a play around. I think i tried my best to capture ASOS's essence within the pictures as well as maintaining our theme.

I just wanted to post these images so you could see our products and just a few little messing around images to spark some inspiration.

So the collection of images above no doubt looks a little strange. We wanted to keep to an 'earthy' theme as well as the earthy colours. and were doing this by envisioning October - November and December. We want our images to really sink into the best things about those months. However we wanted to stay away from Halloween and Christmas as they don't really have anything of a nature kind in them.

We want our October image to be lots of leaves! we are imagining them being raked along the floor with the underwear caught up in it. 

We want our November to be a bonfire, Yes this is technically a holiday but fire is a natural thing, and we thought that the building of the bonfire would look really good in a final shoot. 

The December image we wanted snow on white wood. We managed to source some fake snow and we are hoping that it doesn't come across too fake in the image itself.

Looking at the images above might not make much sense but i created a digital version of what i wanted our props/backgrounds to look like for each image so when we go to our shoot on the day we know how to set everything up. however i left out the underwear of these images as the placement of it will most likely move between shots.

The first we have leaves on the ground of the studio with someone holding a rake, we want the underwear in with the leaves but in a position that will make it still stand out. we wouldn't have any hands in the shot it would be closer up. Our second image i'm going to create a mini bonfire kind of scene, the underwear will be placed around/ on it. Our third image we have some white wood and fake snow, the underwear will be placed on the wood with the snow gently on and mostly around it, 

so that it symbolises winter. 

I wanted our images to show a progression from autumn to winter, i did this by visualising what i think of most in October, November and December but i wanted to stay away from the bigger holidays like Halloween and Christmas, and decided to just use bonfire as i thought the twigs is keeping in tune with our 'Earthed' WGSN trend as much as the fallen leaves and the snow. (Halloween and Christmas don't follow that trend which is why i left them out.) 

I'm hoping that these will be easy enough to re create on the day my only doubts are going to be with getting the mini bonfire to stand, and our best option being to try and fix it together prior to the shoot. 

The photos above are really just a guideline and a visual aid to help us set up, On the day of the shoot things may change to help the shoot along is something doesn't work out. Yet i feel i have created a quirky way to show the underwear and its something that would also fit into ASOS guidelines.

I created this power point of research so we could deeper understand ASOS as a brand. I looked slightly into their history, I created its PRODUCT, PLACE, PRICE and PROMOTION. I created a customer to best fit their brand and then i looked into their social media platforms as i know that's a HUGE part of their promotion.

Our chosen style of editorial and magazine is going to be ASOS as we feel they are very fun and quirky with their shoots. They sell to people our age and their all high-street priced products. 

Their images are really interesting and we feel their style not only suits the underwear and ideas we have but it suits our individual personalities too . 

I have a few copies of the magazine myself to we can get a closer look into the editorials that we will be duplicating the layout of for our own images, They have quite creative fonts and they're all very different for each editorial so we will have to look carefully for the one that we want to use for ours, they also have a range of different layouts and overall styles which leaves options for us very open but we need to scan through the magazines to find something that fits our final photos the best. 

However I like how we can keep our options open with this magazine, we have to option to really find something that works well if we look hard enough.

To help us get inspired and start to pick out our underwear styles me and beckie hit the high-street to look for some pieces that we liked and that we might want to use in our photo shoot. We both really liked delicate underwear, that has less structure and is more dainty. We decided our target market was people around our own age, who keep up to date with fashion and loves a good product. were also looking into ASOS for our chosen magazine to use our images in. so taking ASOS in mind they're very quirky, and fun when their selling their products which is what were trying to portray in our shoot. 

With the delicate and pretty underwear styles were looking into its as if we are trying to show a certain innocence through a sensual product by linking it with nature and natural occurrences that aren't normally deemed 'sexy.' 

The shops i looked into were H&M, NewLook, Boux Avenue, and Victoria Secret. I wanted to see what they offered us to fit into our style. But so far I have bought underwear from Ann summers, Primark and TKMaxx for the shoot. (Pictures below) these pieces will be used in our Autumn style images, With them all being nudes, browns and tan's they're really earthy colours, I'm still looking for some green items to add to these.
