When researching further in to still life image of lingerie type clothing I particularly liked the use of natural light in shots taken by windows. I love the look of the light from the window filtering through the delicate pieces of underwear really drawing attention to how fragile and beautiful they look. I would really like to try and take a shot like this for our final shoot. 

Another way I particularly liked still images of lingerie was when a white background was used, whether that be white wood or just plain white, with light coming in from the side highlighting each part of the lingerie; very much like the bottom right image.

Here I have comprised a few images from our initial thoughts using Illustrator in order to try an array of photo editing software. We firstly looked at makeup and perfumes which we felt photographed very nicely when pictured in still life and helped us to grasp how still life images are taken. However, we felt that we wanted to 'push the boat out' a little more and opted to go for something that we felt no one else in the class would cover.

Initially, as a group we all got together and discussed an array of different options and which kind of route we wanted to take. We looked at other still life images and even comprised a paper collage and toyed with different ideas. In the end, we came to the conclusion that we wanted our main focus to be based around lingerie and underwear. Therefore we created this blog in order to show our thought processes throughout our project.


I personally created this collage using photoshop of a few different textures I liked and different examples of lingerie I thought looked great when photographed in a 'still life' sort of way. I like the use of white different textures like white painted wood, white painted bricks and peeling white surfaces. I feel like this could look good as a background for our shoot. We also looked at WGSN to establish up and coming trends and saw that there are quite a few earth tones used.
